THE EARTH WILL END LIKE MARS:

A POSSIBILITY, OR IS SCIENCE FICTION?

When we compare their photos, the differences between the planets Mars and the Earth literally jump to the eye: the first is red and the second dominate blue and white. The difference is marked by the presence of iron oxides that abound on the surface of Mars, origin of orange colors, and by the presence of water on our planet. Water, an element absent from Mars, as we know it on Earth: solid in the polar ice caps, liquid in the seas and gaseous in the atmosphere.

TRIBUTE TO THE ECOLOGISTS IN THEIR DAY:

DON QUIJOTE AND HIS SHIELDS IN THE CURRENT WORLD

The adventures of Don Quixote seem unrepeatable in the modern world because of the differences that separate the 21st century from the 16th century: an urbanized world, technified, automated, fast, communicated, as opposed to a rural, backward, slow, incommunicado world. If a man today went out to "undo wrongs" it would be immediately the mockery in the social networks, and in a certain way nothing would happen.

In particular, working as an ecologist in Colombia is an arduous task; Suffice it to say that our country is next to Brazil and the Philippines, the three worst destinations for an ecologist. In the last 7 years, 102 environmentalists have been killed: only between 2016 and 2017, 61 were reported. And at the end of the day, there is an impunity of 97%; that is to say, these deaths are not clarified either, and therefore the guilty remain without being identified and

This dramatic situation is the black backdrop of Ecology and the courageous ecologists in Colombia, who do not work but struggle, so that this relationship is harmonious and we have a country where species are not

On this day of commemoration, SANAMBIENTE expresses its admiration and respect for these professionals who make such a valuable contribution, while at the same time expressing its support for all initiatives aimed at preserving the environment.

AUGUST 29: INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST NOISE

 THE CITY, NOISE AND HEALTH:

A TRIAD OF DIFFICULT HANDLING

The modern city is synonymous with noise. And nobody is safe from him. The more the city grows in size and inhabitants, the more people need housing, services and transportation, the more chances there is for a person to suffer what is called the "ear of an artilleryman".
